Puck Preps
Regional Scout - USA
Walos is the heartbeat of the team's offense. His desire to win always seems on display with how he competes. He’s hard on bodies and accountable to the defensive game before he turns plays up ice. His feet aren’t explosive by any stretch but he carries momentum and can deviate routes in an elusive manner. Smart and creative with the puck on his stick and is highly skilled, often working the puck in all planes to draw defenders to him and then find the open lane. Really effective playmaker off the rush and in zone and equally dangerous as a shooter in motion or around the net. Very cerebral player.

Alex Annun
Regional Scout - USA
This was my first viewing of Caiven Walos, younger brother of Easton Walos whom I’ve viewed before, and there were some similarities that I was able to draw from his game. The well-roundedness is probably the thing that stood out the most, his ability to have a positive impact in each zone and situation is something that clearly makes him a key player for Madison. He killed penalties with his strong defensive stick work and ability to pressure the puck, led rushes by successfully entering the zone with slick stick handling, and was able to get open through his good skating ability. His edgework and ability to gain a step and corner on the inside of his man kept him one step ahead and gave him the best chance at making plays. He found space well and was able to earn solid chances for himself, getting the puck to goal and finding his teammates in open space. He was persistent on the puck and displayed good strength in board battles, coming away with possession and enabling his team to get back on the attack. He’s a player I look forward to watching more of in the coming months and years, with continued development he can become a very talented all-around player.
