Hall is a forward who played with a lot of pace and showcased exceptional playmaking ability throughout my viewings of Honeybaked. He showed an impressive combination of creativity, quick hands, and smart processing, making him one of the top performers in the tournament. Austin did a great job at deking, protecting the puck and driving himself into open space and past defenders for scoring chances. Hall was constantly scanning for passing options and was always processing the developing plays, allowing him to react a step ahead of his opponents. Hall was an excellent playdriver and transition maestro for HoneyBaked, which are two key elements that I think will help him greatly as he continues advancing to higher levels of hockey.

Another attacker that impressed me was Austin Hall, he excelled at getting the puck through to the net and was happy to take shots from all over the zone if the lanes were open. He mixed up his shot selection well and when he couldn’t get a pass down low he directed the puck on goal and used the goalie’s rebound as a pass, and he kept his eyes peeled for point shots he was able to get a stick on himself as he moved through the slot. He used his speed and agility effectively on the defensive side of the puck to stick closely to puck carriers and intervene with a poke check as he looked to quickly get up ice the other way on a fastbreak. He had a great motor and put in great defensive efforts; and when he sprung up ice he did well to slow play down and change up the tempo as he looked to dissect the opposition. He did well getting the puck to the slot via shots on goal and passes, and he was constantly finding space down low to give him great looks to the middle of the ice.

Chewy Hall stood out to me immediately upon watching Honeybaked as he skillfully maneuvered his way through open ice and got in behind the defense to generate offense. He was extremely aware of defenders closing in on him and used his slick hands to quickly evade opponents, using his smooth lateral movement or a quick burst of speed to slip by and gain access to the space in behind. He was effective off the rush as a result of his speed and skill, constantly making good plays with his distribution skills. He showed off his vision and was able to pick out passes extremely well, mixing in deception to further sell the possibility of him holding onto the puck and taking it himself. His passing was crisp and effective, and he was quick to move off the puck and set himself up for the next step in the attacking movement. He was all over the attacking zone and frequently looking to get on the puck and create offense directly from his stick, and he was able to get to the center of the ice effectively and earn high quality scoring opportunities. He chipped in with some strong defensive work as well, using his mobility to stay close to the puck carrier and maintaining good gap control while keeping his stick active to disrupt passing lanes.
