He was very shifty with the puck on his stick, using that lateral movement and ability to stop on a dime to work his way into high quality scoring areas. He handled the puck well and flashed some good skill, and he showed some very good chemistry with linemate Landon Sampair. There were a number of quick passing exchanges where Skelton was able to work himself into dangerous shooting areas and quickly fire off some chances. He processed the game well and was able to find ways to unlock the defense through his quick movement and passing ability. He showed great vision and was able to provide a number of good looks on goal to his teammates.

Skelton’s skating ability was one of the things that stood out to me immediately, he was very agile and knifed his way through the defense into space where he could create offense. His distribution was sound and he orchestrated a number of high quality chances, even setting Landon Sampair up for one of his goals. He found himself in scoring areas often after making smart reads of the defense and darting into space to receive the puck. There were a few defensive contributions he was able to make as he got stuck in with puck carriers along the boards and was able to jostle pucks loose with his stick and slow down the opposition.
