EVENT 2024 Elite U15 Canadian Crown
I’m not sure I’ve had a viewing of Edge this year where Remy wasn’t the most important person for their team overall. He’s powerful, aggressive, and engages physically both defending the rush and pinning players down low. When others try to step up on him, he can take those open ice hits with intensity and bounce right back up. His demeanor on the ice lets him pinch aggressively sometimes, use his agility to escape, and shoot heavy or jam. While he isn’t the tallest defender, at this stage of the game it doesn’t hurt him much at all. His tenacity and confidence makes up for that in spades.

EVENT 2024 Rocky Mountain Classic
I’ve watched Edge play around 6 times so far this year and Remy always comes away as the player with the strongest edges, fastest acceleration through his cuts, and uses those open ice moments to create shot lanes, pull pucks off the boards, and release some heavier snap shots. He’s listed at 5’9 and 175lbs so the big question scouts will ask will be about how much growth is exactly left. It is easy to like his play on the ice though as he explodes into shoulder to shoulder checks at times, catches players off guard with how aggressive he can be, and can pick his shot moments to drift until the goaltender is screened. When stationary, he can lose board battles sometimes but that is probably the smallest criticism I could make. I think he’s a good player and often he’s the one driving scoring chances.

Puck Preps
EVENT Nashville Kings of Spring
An exciting offensive defenseman, Remy Koch did a great job at moving the puck under his own power with some solid speed and acceleration, joining the rush along with leading it in possession of the puck, he was a great transitional force for his team between the bluelines. His vision, puck skills, and power made him incredibly evasive as he navigated the neutral zone, and these assets helped him greatly when walking the offensive line as well. With quick puck movements, and crossover work walking the line, he slipped into space creating give-and-go plays high in the zone, allowing him to work within the high slot for brief periods of time as he escaped coverage, and proceed to fire shots at the net, along with feed high danger passes towards the goalmouth. He showed off some great power in each crossover and stride as he navigated the ice, combine this with good footspeed, and he reacted well to oncoming pressure across all 3 zones. He certainly played a higher-risk game than most blueliners would, jumping into the rush often, driving the middle lane and darting deep into the zone off-puck in hopes to get his stick on a pass. For the most part, the majority of his brash decisions resulted in dangerous chances for his team, providing a nice extra offensive kick from the backend for team Coast to Coast.
