EVENT 2025 U15 AAA Canadian Crown Tournament
Fabro had an impressive tournament, finishing with 14 points in six games, second most amongst all skaters. He is so slippery and elusive with possession, finding unique and creative solutions to problems the opposition defence present. His spatial awareness is dynamite, and he consistently stays ahead of pressure by placing the puck in areas only he can get to. At times it looks less like he’s stickhandling and more like he’s making a series of micro-passes to himself through feet and under sticks as he maneuvers through traffic. He uses his unpredictability to great effect as a triggerman as well, baiting defenders into early shot block attempts before adjusting his release and picking corners. Fabro’s slim build and small stature don’t hold him back much when the puck is on his stick, but he can lack the jam to consistently win 50/50 puck battles. I also think some refinement will be needed in his defensive zone play as he progresses forward. He uses his speed effectively to provide back pressure in tracking down opponents on the rush but once play carries on in his own end for too long he can get antsy and blow the zone early. I think Fabro has one of the wider ranges of potential outcomes in this year’s WHL draft class and I’ll be curious to see which team makes the plunge and takes a bet on his high-level skill.
