Cole Connolly immediately jumped off the page with his aggressive moves off the rush and the scoring touch that came with it. He was shooting the puck from all over and with a heavy release and some great power was able to find the back of the net on a few occasions. On one rush he gained the line and fired a shot on net that was blocked, but with some good tenacity, followed up the play, was first on the loose puck and fired another shot on net that beat the goalie. In many situations I felt Connolly wanted it more than his opponents, and factoring in the size, strength, and speed trifecta, he won the majority of loose pucks, particularly in the slot and from other scoring areas. He continued to show off his strength and skill as he shielded the puck from others, working with one hand on the stick, his single-arm strength and control helped him keep play alive as he worked to shake off checkers. The willingness to shoot, and the power and accuracy shown when shooting made Connolly one of the top scoring threats on his team and the location and tenacious methods of doing so gave him some great power forward tendencies.
