Broderick Ferguson was perhaps the most dynamic and offensively involved blueliner for his team, driving play by skating with the puck and taking some chances in the offensive zone when appropriate. It was clear he owned a skillset above average in comparison to other blueliners, making quick puck handles to change passing angles and coordinate with his footwork, he was an accurate puck mover in all 3 zones and handled pressure well via puck movements, or lateral mobility coupled with some good power, and if needed, dynamic moves with the puck. He walked the line soundly for his team, changing the flow of play a little bit as a result as he drew in pressure and opened space elsewhere. On the defensive side of the puck, he largely kept play to the outside. He was tough to get that extra step on to get around on either the inside or outside lane, many times in defensive transitions he was able to simply run the puck carrier out of room and stifle their attempt with a strong stick check when the moment was right.
