Naish was constantly winning pucks in his defensive zone, always looking to disrupt his opponents' cycles, engage physically, and free up loose pucks. Zack was rarely passive defensively, and used his frame and reach well to win possession back for the Whitecaps. His passing wasn't perfect, but for the most part, he connected on his outlet passes and was fundamental to getting stops and helping his team exit his zone.
