EVENT John Reid Memorial Tournament
I really had to double check the tournament scoring charts because I would have thought he hit it way more often. I thought he showed very well in these games by being first to pucks on the forecheck, shoulder checking for awareness in good spots, cutting back heavy and protecting possession well when getting pinned to the boards. He’s sometimes an unsuspectingly good player as he has quicker hands in the front pocket and can transition chances decently. I think while he doesn’t necessarily have one particular stand out ability, he works hard, battles hard, and has no noticeable deficiencies in his game. I think he’s one of those players who will use the details of his game partnered with a quality IQ to continue to succeed up levels.
