Kydd’s best moments came when he was able to show his high-end speed in conjunction with his puck carrying ability to attack the offensive zone, turn around defenders and get a step to generate separation for himself off the rush. He flashed some intriguing one on one ability to pull pucks around defenders and get himself to the middle of the ice where he could break in alone. The skating ability overall was a huge positive for Kidd, demonstrating quick acceleration from a standstill that allowed him to break inside from off the halfwall and generate looks for himself from the inside. He kept his feet moving off-puck in the offensive zone which allowed him to get into prime scoring areas and get a few quick shots off from the middle of the ice.
