As always, the highly mobile defender Colton Lapierre was doing a little bit of everything in this game, showing his high end skills in many different ways, throwing his weight around figuratively and literally. He was engaged physically, throwing hits but also using his strength to shield the puck and maintain possession through pressure. He was active all over, moving the puck in transition or making breakout passes and inside the opposing end he did a great job picking when to slide up and help out offensively. He provided a lot of value to the Red Wings with his strong two-way play, disrupting and intercepting pucks and of course showcasing his slick skills with the puck.
