I liked a lot of what I got to see from Jesse over this event. That included a lot of strong decisions with the puck on his stick and lots of control. Whether it was delaying on entries, saucer passes across lanes, digging for pucks in the corner, or jamming plays net front, he was engaged and skilled. Throw in some faceoff wins, easily taking passes on his backhand in stride, and cutting back into the middle with intention and control. Jesse showed a lot of different ways to score and had a bit more power and presence in what he was doing than a lot of the other teams. He was working with his linemates and it’s easy to see why Warmen are such a strong group this year. Jesse is currently Saskatchewan’s leading goal scorer in league play with 19 goals over 6 games.
