While he only grabbed one point in the six games, I think I became more curious about his longer term development as the games wore along. He’s a great overall skater and can match stride for stride with almost anyone. The right shot defender had some low half slap attempts, some drives into the zone to get loose pucks, and was able to get back on puck receptions before others as he moved pucks simply up the wall or made a little outlet. He’s what I see as a higher floor player and then the improvements in decision making and puck creativity can expand over time. That ability to battle and cover ground is a great spot to begin the evaluation.
