It was much of the same from Zajic in this one, who continues to be a dynamic one on one attacker despite having some shortcomings in the rest of his game. He’s able to transport the puck through the neutral zone quite easily thanks to his impressive skating and stickhandling combination. Once he enters the zone, I found him to have a bit of tunnel vision, often option to make a drive to the net rather than delaying and waiting for help to arrive. He scored a goal on the powerplay in the second period, flexing his high-end shooting mechanics wiring a quick wrister from the circle that beat the goaltender clean. His playmaking was a tad bit inconsistent as well, as he did execute some passes to the slot but also threw a lot of 50/50 pucks to congested areas.

Wanted to highlight Lukas as I thought that he displayed a few dynamic qualities. Late in the game when there was not much open ice to be had, I thought he was able to leverage his stickhandling and reach to. He displayed this dominance picking up what would be the eventual game winner, on a beautiful solo effort weaving through layers of defenders while protecting the puck beautifully.

Zajic possesses a level of skill that really pops when you watch him at this level. He was almost impossible to contain in one on one situations, either putting pucks through defenders with ease or using subtle head fakes to freeze then accelerate around them. He was able to withstand contact with the puck on his stick and spot passing options while under pressure as well, demonstrating the ability to perform a wide array of difficult passes. His speed was a huge factor in this game as well, as he was consistently able to win races to loose pucks and cause defenders to turn around when he attacked off the rush.
