Allen is a defenseman who wants to jump up and drive the play. He has great speed with terrific edges and can fly up and down the ice. Allen has good instincts on offense, jumping up in the play and getting involved. However, this can get him into some trouble getting caught and allowing odd man rushes. He has a good defensive stick and can play the body but is definitely more offensive minded as a young defenseman. Once he is able to become more disciplined and pick his spots better, this will allow him to become a more well-rounded defenseman.
