Coming off a strong performance yesterday, I thought Brody followed it up with an equally as impressive performance today. He’s got such great playmaking ability and vision and so when he plays in space, and affords himself time to make a play, he is so incredibly dangerous. This was on full display again today where he set up Harvey beautifully on the back door and blowing by two opponents in the neutral zone. Brody capped off the win with the empty netter.

Brody was a treat to watch in this one. His motor was revving all night, and he was simply a difference maker every shift. I was really impressed by his physical play, and his puck protection coming off the walls. He turned a lot of nothing plays into spectacular scoring chances. Brody also played with immense amounts of speed and was impressive in the neutral zone pulling pucks around defenders while gaining the zone at top speed. He only factored in on one scoring play, picking up an assist, but it felt like he could’ve easily done more damage.

A pair of goals from Brody George brought the game close as they pushed to tie things, but ultimately it wasn’t enough. George’s ability to get himself into good goal scoring positions was the key as he was able to move off the puck and quickly convert on his chances when they came to him. He played with speed as he entered the zone along the boards and hit the brakes along the half boards and surveyed the offensive zone looking for incisive passes. He was able to find pockets of space around the net and battled well to get to the puck first. He showed some good finishing ability and on his second goal he showed good patience to outwait the defenseman and pick his spot.
