Chase Allen
Regional Scout- USA
With some strong reads off the puck in the offensive zone, and with a strong forward stride to get into space and support his forwards, Jason Segal was a promising offensive piece from the backend for Team Orange. One of the goals he scored in the camp was as a result of making a nice read high in the zone to jump into the slot, place himself perfectly in the lane between two defenders, catch a pass and fire it beyond the goaltender. He was quick to make decisions, along with identifying routes and options when playing with, and without the puck. The quickness to his movements was driven by some good lower body power and agility through his feet, giving him that pep-to-his-step to carry the puck with speed along with make plays at a higher level in complex scenarios.
