When watching Zaporzan, his biggest trait was his pure skill. He tried a bunch of moves and while they didn’t always work, he was really fun to watch. Throughout the tournament, the young forward consistently dazzled with flashes of brilliance that demanded attention. One particularly memorable moment was his jaw-dropping pass between his legs, a move that completely caught the defenseman off guard. His unexpected creativity on the ice was a thrilling view and made for some fun shifts. Zaporzan’s passing in the offensive zone was truly elite. Whether it was a simple drop pass or a sneaky cross-seam play that caught everyone off guard, he consistently demonstrated top-tier vision and skill. His ability to create scoring opportunities with his passes was a standout feature of his game during the tournament. Zaporzan’s unpredictability made him a captivating player to watch—his inventive moves kept you on the edge of your seat.

Camden Zaporzan impressed at the World Selects Invitational with his speed, agility and overall pace of play. He has such great straight-line speed that allows him to get behind defenders in transition which in turn creates more odd-man rush or breakaway opportunities for himself when his teammates are able to spring a pass to him in stride, forcing his opponents to turn their bodies early or just play more conservatively overall when he’s on the ice. He’s a very elusive player using his agility and explosiveness to spin off defenders and avoid defensive pressure giving himself the necessary time and space to work with in the offensive zone. Although he doesn’t carry the hardest shot, he has the ability to beat goaltenders from inside the dots with his shot placement and with a smooth set of hands that when he attacks with speed makes him a constant scoring threat from around the net.

Zaporzan’s most notable plays from this game came as a puck carrier inside the offensive zone where he used his quick footwork to create space from defenders and prolong possessions for his team. I thought he displayed a high motor during plays below the hashmarks, continuously moving his feet on cycle plays and smothering opponents to win loose puck battles. He was even able to generate a couple of good scoring chances for teammates just by attacking the net and funnelling pucks towards the blue paint.

Camden Zaporzan played a heavy shoot-first rush-offense type of game, scoring the opening goal in the process, his name was of strong significance as a part of Shattuck’s victory. With only a few effective crossovers he was able to build good speed, power his way around opponents and gain the offensive blueline. With a lower skating stature he was strong on his feet, tough to bounce off the puck and inviting contact at times to pull in defenders. He scored the opening goal as a result of being relentless on the early backcheck on a puck carrier. Stripping them of the puck at their own hashmarks, he turned around and fired a shot point-blank past the goaltender. Throughout the game he made some nice defensive plays as well, coming back hard through the middle of the ice, he intercepted some centering efforts that could’ve led to some dangerous chances.
