I have been intrigued by the play of Alex Smyth for a while now, and Florida Exposure Cup confirmed that I should be interested in his game. He showed flashes of dynamic playing ability throughout the games as his quick first step allowed him to separate from his man and get into open spaces to create. He is a playmaker and while he only had one assist, a lovely one at that, he was still doing a good job dictating the pace of play in the offensive zone as he surveyed passing options. He was able to speed the game up or slow it down to whatever pace he wished to play at, something that kept defenses wary of his next move. While it may be a little overdue at this point, his performances at Alex Smyth have led me to add him to the 20008 rankings for the upcoming update.
