EVENT 2025 QMJHL Cup
St-Gelais was one of the more effective performers for Team Bergeron from start to finish, consistently driving play in the right direction through strong puck-carrying in transition and setting up his linemates with impressive vision in the offensive zone. I thought he did a good job of skating into space in the neutral zone, receiving hard passes in stride and gaining the zone with speed before making a shrewd pass to an open linemate to set up a lengthy offensive zone possession. He was consistently spotting open options off the cycle as well, threading pucks through sticks and traffic to feed teammates in the middle of the ice to set up high-danger chances. He was a hound over loose pucks in the offensive zone as well, often winning 1v1 battles along the boards to generate puck touches for himself before taking it to the middle and showcasing his impressive shooting acumen and creating rebounds out in front.

EVENT 2024 USHL Fall Classic
While it’s easy to say St. Gelais was Seacoast’s most effective and efficient forward after finishing atop the team lead in scoring with 5 points in 4 games, it was how he was productive that made the most intrigued about his developmental runway. While he certainly doesn’t lack in individual skill, St. Gelais is a player who knows how to use his teammates to create small advantages all over the ice. He was using give and go’s to consistently get himself into space, divert attention away from himself and get off shots from dangerous of the ice both off the rush and off the cycle. When he wanted to, he could beat defenders in one on one situations either by driving wide around them with speed or cutting across their hands laterally to generate a bit of space with the puck to get a shot off from the interior. What set him apart from the rest of his teammates was his high-end shooting mechanics that allowed him to pick corners from distance and be a threat to score from all over the offensive zone. His release is quick and deceptive, which makes it hard for goaltenders to read the puck as it comes off his stick while it also pops off his blade with an ample amount of velocity. He’s definitely one of the better shooters I’ve seen thus far for the 2025 QMJHL draft, which along with his inclusive and detail-oriented game could see him become one of the better offensive players in this year’s class.

Game Information 2025 QMJHL Cup: Team Bergeron vs Team Talbot
I thought St-Gelais flashed plenty of versatility in his offensive approach throughout this contest, beating defenders with his hands, winning battles for loose pucks and flashing high-level shooting mechanics. He had some strong moments as a puck-carrier as well, taking good routes into space in the neutral zone which allowed him to gain the offensive blueline and set up lengthy offensive zone sequences for his line on a consistent basis. On-puck in the offensive zone I thought he did a good job of finding passing options through traffic and flashing a strong playmaking acumen to thread pucks through sticks and bodies to teammates in scoring areas. He kept his feet moving constantly in the OZ as well, which allowed him to win races to loose pucks to extend possession or pressure opposing defenders, force turnovers and regain the puck back before distributing to an open teammate.
