I was surprised to see his height and weight listed because he’s always appeared bigger than that to me this season. Antonio was really trying to push pace for Team White. He was able to cause turnovers and intercept passes out of the defensive zone and use his speed to separate for breakaways. It appears like he’s still growing, is still adding strength to his skating stride, but has confidence to both push pace through the neutral zone while using his inside edges to drift laterally for better shot lanes. I came away from the event realizing that he’s often hanging out higher in the zone and looking for those rush chances.

I thought Correia was the best of the Manitoba players in this game and served as a leader in trying to will his team back into the fight. He had some great response shifts in this game and when momentum tilted too heavily in Saskatchewan’s favour it was Correia who seemed to provide some pushback. His game is chalk full of the fundamentals can be rare in a player at this age. He attacks the game in straight lines, finishes hits, stops on the puck, drives back post, provides help defence, and takes care of the little details. You could hear him consistently in the stands as he directed traffic, barking out aid to teammates under pressure.
