Ula was the trigger man for his team, a pure sniper who shot the puck nearly every time he touched it. His ability to fire from virtually anywhere made each shot feel like a potential goal. With a quick release and exceptional positioning, he consistently found ways to receive passes, keeping defenders on their toes. His speed was remarkable; he could fly on the ice and often slipped into open space in the offensive zone. Ula was solid in the defensive zone as well, making it challenging for opponents to play against him. His awareness in all areas of the ice was impressive, showcasing his intelligence as a player. He invariably read the game well, positioning himself effectively to disrupt plays and support his teammates. Overall, Ula's combination of shooting prowess and hockey IQ made him an invaluable asset to his team throughout the tournament.

Ula was one of the main offensive catalysts in getting the Avalanche back in this game and ultimately helping complete the comeback. He got on the scoresheet early in this one when he pulled an inside-outside move on a defender while attacking off the rush to get a shot off from in tight, picking up his own rebound and connecting on a low slot centering pass for a primary assist. He scored his team’s second goal of the game on the powerplay when he caught a pass in stride off the rush on the powerplay and snapped a puck far side that beat the goaltender clean. He tied the game not too long afterwards shooting a puck on net from up high in the zone that found its way through traffic into the top right corner.

In a game where your team loses 11-3 it’s really hard to put together a great game, but I’d say Patrik Ula did just that. He showed a great ability to predict, anticipate, and pressure puck carriers for the Jr. Mounties, both on the forecheck and when working in defensive transitions through the neutral zone. Early in the game he forced a turnover on the forecheck and got a quick chance down-low in the offensive zone, showing his ability to quickly transition from off-puck to on-puck offense. His best play of the game came off a great pass interception right at center ass, powered his way through a pair of defenders, worked in alone on the goaltender and tied things up 2-2. His style of play both on the PK and at even strength was that of playing with pace and urgency. Against a team like the Jr. Mounties sitting back wasn’t an option, and his ability to play with a high motor took away plenty of space and forced opponents to make mistakes. With the puck on his stick, he did a nice job at carrying the puck, with a decent frame and some good strength he was able to starve off checking opponents, creating space through physical engagement, all while using some good edges and hands to protect the puck. Overall, an effective, and very respectable game from Patrik Ula for the North Jersey Avs.
