Coyotes vs. Toronto Jr. Canadiens - November 2, 2020
A top 20 player in the early OHL Draft rankings in the OHL Preview, Romani was using his skating effectively throughout the game, especially on the offence. Romani is a smooth skater who effectively uses his edges to cut and change directions, he showed this at different points in this game as a way of creating more time and space with the puck. He potted the lone and tying goal of the game for the Jr. Canadiens, and combined both his acceleration, edgework, and his hands, as well as his shot for a highlight goal. On the play, he jumped on a bobbled puck at the left point, using his acceleration to not only beat the pivoted defenseman to the puck, but then effectively use his speed to separate and create an odd man rush (2 on 1). Once in the offensive zone, Romani showed patience, as he showed shot keeping his blade facing the net. As the defenseman reached to poke the puck, in one motion with subtle movement with his edges Romani cut to the middle and in one motion he combined some slick hands with a hard-accurate shot as he toe dragged the puck and shot the puck top corner.
