The line of Anstis, Hendrickson, and Soller was excellent in this one and they were responsible for all four of the goals they scored. Anstis tallied a pair of goals through some great hustle and physical play around the net, he battled hard and was able to win positioning out front to get his stick on the puck first and score a couple of hard nosed goals. He showed great attacking instincts to get into those dangerous areas and earn those opportunities, bringing a finishing touch to ensure he was able to capitalize on those chances in a tough game. He wasn’t credited with an assist on the opening goal but he made a great poke check to deflect a pass intended for the opposing defender and helped send Soller in on his breakaway. His intuition on an offensive zone faceoff to peel out and drive to the net and tap in the feed from Hendrickson was likely a set play, but it was executed perfectly and hinged on him beating his man to the spot. Shattuck’s offense didn’t have flair or anything, it was just players like Anstis doing exactly what was asked of them and connecting on their plays when it counted.
