Defenseman Caden Yale was a mobile puck mover who did well along the point to keep pucks in play and reliably get it in the hands of forwards down low. His mobility and evasiveness caught me a tad off guard, but he was difficult for the opposition to pin down and when they thought they had cornered him along the boards at the blue line he did very well to spin away from pressure and take space. He was very composed and confident with the puck on his stick, and he used that same slippery skating ability to create shooting and passing lanes for him to access. He extended offensive plays well by using his legs and he was able to get the puck to the net consistently and allow his forwards to try to get their sticks on the puck and crash for rebounds. His defensive success was also aided by his maneuverability, as he was quickly able to slide over to cover the open man and get in the way. His long reach was useful in getting his stick on the puck, and he was able to find some success in battles along the wall as well.
