Sick for game one and not utilized a ton in game 2, Bear was only showing brief flashes of what he’s capable of. Clearly quite speedy on both sides of the puck, he was up and down the ice, playing a physical and intense brand of hockey with moments of skill and evasion with the puck that show why he’s been so productive to this point. A slot pass attempt led to a turnover from Bear but his speed was immediately on display, backchecking and causing a ruckus that prevented the US team from getting set up. You can’t gather much from these games for any player, but Bear wasn’t used a ton and wasn’t 100% leaving even less to work with. He had his moments and flashes and remains a player I’m high on.
