Regional Scout - USA
Carter Felt finished as joint-leader in scoring on his team with six points, with three goals and three assists, but some of what impressed me the most from his game had nothing to do with his scoring or playmaking abilities. His tenacious puck pressuring and ability to hunt down the opposition was very impactful for his team, he was strong on the puck and did an excellent job forcing players off the puck and winning possession for himself. His ability to win the puck and turn up ice to start attacks was very important, the two-way style he brought to the table was effective and he did well to suffocate opposing puck carriers and create offense from his defensive play. He was a good distributor of the puck, quickly moving it off his stick in the neutral zone and making quick one-two’s to get in behind the first layer of defense while building up a head of steam as he headed towards goal. He set up along the boards in the offensive zone when the opportunity presented itself and took up a playmaking role, scanning the ice and identifying openings in the defense to feed pucks into.
