Scouting Report
EVALUATED 17/03/2021Devin Rodger
Chaz Lucius is one of the top prospects in the entire 2003 birth year and for good reason. Even with his injury troubles this season when Lucius touches the ice, he is dangerous. Go back to his U14-U15 seasons and in 27 games he racked up an astounding 97 points. Just wow. It should not come as a surprise then that with the U17 NTDP Lucius continued putting up big numbers with 50 points in 46 games. His skating is at a remarkably high level with his ability to transition or weight shift all the while maintaining puck control with his head searching for the next outlet. He is noticeably confident with the puck on his stick and is willing to make big plays when needed. You can not mention all those points without talking about his shot that he can get off extremely quick and in tight spaces. On multiple occasions I have also noticed him be the first forward back to help break up an odd man rush and shows great skill at reading offensive attacks while defending with his use of angling the puck carrier. Chaz Lucius has all the makings of a high NHL draft pick.
