Gerrior was fantastic in this championship series finishing with eight points in four games after finishing second in scoring among all 2008 born players in this league during the regular season with 59 points in 31 games. I’m not sure there is a more projectable player among his peers in this league as he’s the player I’m most confident in making the jump to the junior ranks next season. He checks every box as a five-tool offensive player. His combination of size and speed immediately stands out as he wheels up ice with a long athletic stride and uses his frame and reach to muscle around defenders to attack the net-front. He plays with a really long stick and yet shows remarkable dexterity and finesse through traffic, managing to carry the puck in unorthodox areas that makes him difficult to predict. His feel in the offensive zone is also very advanced as he seems to have a prepared solution for every scenario and is comfortable as both the point of attack as well as finding space as the off-puck triggerman. His ability to rag the puck with speed and make flashy journeys through space attracts a lot of attention and he is very deliberate about attracting eyes and double teams before finding his linemates in space. I think there is an enticing offensive package in Gerrior’s game and with minor improvements in his small area agility and attention on the defensive end I think he will be an impact junior talent in short order.
