Devin Kaplan has one of the highest ceilings of anyone on the USA NTDP U17 team. He has a shot that will beat any goalie his age, and the frame of a first round NHL draft pick. Kaplan has dominated the AYHL of the Atlantic district, embarrassing New Jersey and New York's best, with relative ease often going through the motions while still being able to dominate.  He has the skating ability, hands, and IQ he just needs to find the day in day out compete and Team USA will get that out of him.  Kaplan has been one of the, if not the most, heard name in the US since he was 12.  He has oodles of potential but did suffer a bit of a set back last season missing most of it due to shoulder surgery. There is a good chance missing so much time will spark a fire within Kaplan and we see the absolute best out of him this coming season.  On the U17 team and later Boston University, Kaplan will need to become more of a power forward, not a half wall powerplay guy, and be a bumper shot trigger or net front presence using his stick skills and big frame.  He Has a high ceiling that needs high level coaching to reach.
