Puck Preps
Grayden Slipec is as dynamic an offensive player as there is in Western Canada’s 2005 age group. His skating is strong and powerful and he possesses a very good shot with an incredibly quick release, which he used to beat goalies on a regular basis last season. He shows great speed through the neutral zone and can beat defenders wide where he is able to drive to the net or find an open trailing teammate with is elite vision. He was the catalyst of West Vancouver’s powerplay last season where he would either opt for a shot or find an open teammate. It’s unclear whether Slipec will go the NCAA or CHL route which is likely why he slipped to the second round where he was picked by the Kamloops Blazers.
