One of the most memorable plays in this event for me was Jack Trupiano winning an offensive zone faceoff forward against Belle Tire and feeding the back post for a quick tap-in for Belanger. This highlighted a number of things for me, one of which was that Trupiano found plenty of success in the faceoff dot and that led to extended offensive zone time and quick strike opportunities for his team. Another thing it highlighted for me was his creativity and willingness to try some risky plays that had high upside if he was able to pull it off, trusting in his ability to do so. Finally, it was great recognition from him to notice the difference in ability in the faceoff dot to make him think he would be successful if he attempted that move. I thought he was a very perceptive player out there and did well to assess the situations presented to him and make the best decision according to what his options were. He had nice hands that he used to work himself shooting openings in the offensive zone, getting his shots off quickly and ensuring that his chances were coming from high danger areas of the ice. Another part of his game I admired was the conviction in which he played with, he was supremely confident in all of his decision making as he felt he was making the best possible play every time the puck was on his stick; and very often he was. He was a strong player in transition as he led rushes from the defensive end of the ice right up the gut and into the offensive zone, quickly setting the team up in the attacking end and generating chances. He was a very impactful player for Little Caesars and a key component of that lethal forward group that they have.
