There were several flashes of high-end abilities from Lemieux over the weekend. My favourite was using a change of pace to bait a defender in to lunge towards him and then turning on the jets to blow by the defender with a few quick, explosive strides. In addition to his sheer skating abilities, Jean-Cristoph displayed high-end puck handling and offensive abilities. Using slick dekes to beat opponents, ripping shots high above the goalie's shoulder, and clever passing, Lemieux created plenty of offence for Alliance East.

JC Lemieux was all over the ice in my viewings of Quinte. Using his feet to gain separation from defenders and be a pest on the forecheck, applying non-stop, relentless pressure. JC simply didn't stop going every time he stepped on the ice, which was at the core of how he generated success. His offensive contributions mainly came off the rush, playing at a high pace and being difficult to contain as a result. I thought he did a fantastic job as a setup man, mainly by finding Maddox Dagenais open in the dangerous parts of the ice. If Maddox had a scoring chance, there was a very high likelihood it was off one of Lemieux's passes. He had some scoring chances of his own, burning defenders wide and cutting in, but it was his consistent ability to spot his linemates that really caught my eye. JC's combination of pace, work rate, and puck skills all build the foundation of an exciting player, which earned him a spot on my most upcoming rankings after months of deliberating on his inclusion.

I came away impressed with Lemieux for his ability to operate with the puck at high speed and the way he was able to thread pucks through traffic from the perimeter and complete passes to the scoring areas. He flashed a bit of a power game early on when he received a stretch pass in the neutral zone, attacked the zone with speed and took a defender head on one on one before dipping hiss shoulder and making a hard drive to the net for a chance in tight. With the puck on his stick he demonstrated good vision and precision in his passing, which earned him a primary assist in the third period when he funneled a puck to an open Valentini in the slot. He scored a goal of his own in the third period when he got into a soft spot in coverage in the offensive zone and fired a quick snapshot from the slot that found twine.

Lemieux showed off some great chemistry with linemate Adam Valentini, executing some slick passing plays before forcing a turnover in the OZ and feeding Valentini with a cross ice pass on a 2 on 1 leading to a goal. He worked well under pressure while in the bumper position, threading quick one touch passes out to teammates before driving the net. Lemieux isn’t afraid to challenge defenders head on, dropping his shoulder and going to the net, not necessarily always for a shot but to get the puck in a favourable position net front.

Like Campbell, I thought Jean-Cristoph Lemieux was in the next group of offensive creators behind Dagenais & Desgagné. His primary value was added as a passer. Lemieux connected on plenty of passes to teammates in scoring chances, creating more than a handful of high-danger opportunities for his linemates. He registered an assist through his passing, threading a pass on the powerplay through traffic to an open teammate in a prime back door position. On numerous occasions, he was willing to attempt skilled moves with the puck to attack the middle of the ice.

Lemieux was another Quinte Red Devil who was considerably involved in their team's offence. He often received passes, notably a few stretch passes, and registered shots on net for the Red Devils. Similarly, on the powerplay, Lemieux was always looking to hover into open pockets of space, making himself available for a few quality passes and scoring chances. I noted a few forechecking sequences where Lemieux applied significant pressure to close down the opponent's defender's time and space to attempt a breakaway.
