Admittedly, it's taken me some time to fully untangle Freeman's game, but things started becoming clearer over the Silver Stick. His ability to control the game within the offensive zone, protect the puck along the boards and off the cycle, and then slip a pass toward the middle of the ice was remarkable. Shift after shift, Jeremy was impossible to contain in small spaces, relying on quick puck touches and lateral moves to evade checks and maintain possession. His ability to handle the puck, drew defenders toward him, shifting them out of position, and in turn, created space in behind them for his teammates to sneak into. It was all just an exceptional showing on how to create chances off the boards as Freeman connected on pass after pass to linemates in scoring positions. Freeman tallied three goals in the two games I watched, all finishing slot passes off quick releases, showcasing another element to his offensive arsenal.

Freeman's passing, handling, and overall offensive creativity were the main elements I saw from him over the Titans. When he had the puck, he operated with patience and confidence, always looking to spark an offensive scoring chance. Whether he needed to skirt a defender with a quick move or use a slight change of the puck's position to open up a passing lane, Freeman was always relying on his handling to make things happen. Jeremy could always find a way to navigate his way out of a tricky situation and buy himself the time and space required to scan for passing options and exploit gaps in the defence. Within the offensive zone, Jeremy was just always creating as a passer, setting up countless scoring chances, and racked up a whopping 16 assists over the event. I'd like to see him get a little bit quicker throughout the season to help with my projection of how his game should translate to the OHL level, but the confidence and passing game were outstanding and made for an impressive start to the year.

Freeman created chance after chance, dominating via his passing. All game long, Jeremy was patient within the offensive zone, scanning for passing options and routinely connecting on a pass to the danger areas. It was all very practical, just taking his time with the puck on his stick, never rushing his decisions, and taking advantage of passing lanes before the defence could close them. Especially from along the boards/cycle, Jeremy thrived in his ability to get out from the wall, draw defenders toward him, and dish off to open linemates.

Jeremy Freeman is another one of those rare breeds of players who are just exceptional in offensive transition and off the rush, and with that one skill alone asserts himself as a standout caliber player and finds himself ranked decently high in the top-75. He has a great few steps, and accelerates rapidly with the puck, similar to Jason Gao who was mentioned earlier in this series of articles, who we had compared to Aiden Janz. While moving at top speeds he was able to shoot in stride, manipulate his release point by dragging the puck in towards his body, sacrificing no power or accuracy in the process, and was incredibly difficult to get a stick check in on him. His incessant pace with and without the puck let him fly up and down the ice to help on the defensive side of things, along with spread out defensive systems by forcing defenders to cover him, opening up more ice through the middle for his teammates to skate with the puck. Between Jeremy Freeman and Jason Gao who was ranked 62nd, I think the main defining factor between the two who played a very similar game was that Freeman was just able to execute these high-end plays off the rush a little bit more often and on a consistent basis.
