What a fun game from Powell today. One of the more purely skilled players on Bishop Kearney, Powell navigated through traffic, earned zone transitions and created space for himself leading with his hands both at low pace and in full stride. He was a bit quiet yesterday, but was a premier possession player on a team that largely controlled the most dangerous parts of the game from start to finish. A wonderful pass to Jason Simons on the powerplay to put Bishop Kearney up 4-1, and just to be sure he secured my first star, an empty netter off an excellent read to block a D-to-D pass in his defensive zone capped off his three point performance.

Another forward rounds out the standouts for BK Selects in this game. Konner Powell was the do-it-all forward of the game. He had an assist on BK Selects’ third goal on a give-and-go. He was physical on the forecheck laying a couple of good hits. He also had moments of good passing and flashes of nice speed. Powell played well in this game and shows traits that could be useful up and down a lineup at many levels.
