Despite being one of the youngest members of the USNTDP ‘02 squad, Beniers showed some of the highest potential among their forwards. As an explosive offensive threat and a responsible 200ft player, Beniers quickly earned the trust of Team USA’s coaching staff. When the puck is on his stick his speedy footwork and crafty hands make him a constant threat. Without the puck he doesn’t hesitate to give a strong forecheck and create steals. Beniers thinks the game at a very high pace, the puck is on and off his stick fairly quickly. The quick puck movements that he promotes makes it hard for defenses to keep up with play. Overall, Benier’s creative and electric style of play at his young age makes him one of the more intriguing prospects out of the US.
