Projection: Top six winger Projectable skills: Small area skills, mobility, shooting ability Development Opportunities: Strength, two-way play The best way I can explain Nathan is he has the skill and mobility of a player who is 5'9, but in a 6'2 frame. He is so excellent at playing in small areas, under pressure, and in motion, which is rare for a player of his size. His combination of puck skills and mobility allows him to problem-solve his way out of any situation, get off the boards, and drive toward the net so effortlessly. To cap it all off, Amidovski has quite the finishing touch, hoisting an accurate and powerful shot that he's used all year to beat goaltenders from any angle and distance. Of the 6'2+ wingers in the class, Amidovski is among the slightest and adding muscle will be an area to focus on moving forward. While this is a key area to improve, it also feeds into why I am so bullish on Nathan. I think he is mechanically set up well, so when he adds muscle, everything will improve, unlocking more and more potential in his game. With bigger players, it isn't always as easy as just add muscle, and improvements will come, but I think in Nathan's case, it is and adding strength will only further reinforce his pre-existing physical tools and skating mechanics.

The perfect word to describe Amidovski's play over the weekend is efficient. He always found the right play, never overhandled the puck, and constantly made the correct decision for the moment. Everything he did was with pace; his decisions and puck touches were quick, preventing the defence from adjusting to his actions and frequently catching them off guard. Whether it was a quick touch pass or a move to escape pressure, Amidovski processed the play correctly, detected what was required to facilitate zone exits and entries, and found ways to move pucks to the dangerous areas. As always, the slick puck touches and ability to escape pressure so easily was the focal point of Nathan's game as he was nearly impossible to close down, all due to his quick puck skills and his elite ability to play in small areas and under pressure. He was involved in so many goals for the Colts, creating mainly as a playmaker by threading pucks to teammates in dangerous areas, but he had his fair share of goals through many different methods showcasing his finishing touch. Entering the OHL Cup, Amidovski sits at 5th on my list, and if he plays like this over that final week, it will be hard not to seriously consider moving him up a spot or two.

For much of the season, Amidovski has been one of the best skaters in this years OHL crop for me. Nathan uses his size and reach to simply dominate along the wall and in tight areas. It feels like there’s rarely a time where he comes out without the puck. This is terrifying because of how good he is with the puck on his stick. He can beat any defender at any time and give him a clear path/shot at the goalie. Most impressive about Nathan is that he doesn’t sacrifice any speed while performing dekes or moves around opponents and has a lethal shot. In Barrie’s win in game two, Amidovski finished with 2 goals and an assist.
