Drouin was a bit partial to playing up in the offensive zone if he could help it, and he did well to defend from the front lines with some timely steps and pinches to keep the puck from exiting the zone. He was able to be physical and win battles or delay long enough for his teammates to come and dig the puck out and get back on the attack. When he got the puck on his stick in his defensive zone he was quick to find an outlet pass and spring his team up ice, and he followed up as a late supporting option on the rush.

Chase Allen
Regional Scout - USA
In the midst of some gawdy point totals and high octane scoring, Noah Drouin did a nice job at shutting down his opposition, bringing a strong defensive game driven by physicality, yet owning the mobility and lateral movement needed to keep pace with the game and not get taken out of position. He was smothering along the wall, made aggressive moves to quickly pin puck carriers to the boards, and with his size and strength kept them there as he dug away and engaged in a physical scrum. His long reach enabled him to swat away several centering efforts, both through the neutral zone, along with in-and-around his crease. His play may have gone a bit under the radar as a result of the high scoring nature of this one, but he played a solid role for his team.
