If I were to tell you that Noah broke the record for CSSHL U15 Prep scoring in his WHL Draft -1 year, would that excite you? He had 96 points in 29 games which led the league in scoring and he wasn’t even eligible to be drafted yet. This season he’s followed in the production by leading PCA with 45 points in 32 games. The mass majority of his points come in assists as his agility and adaptability, partnered with a “no fear” approach to power through the neutral zone or plant himself in the slot, leads to a lot of puck touches and deceptive passing angles. He’s the kind of player who knows how to get you to move your stick or feet just enough to allow him to feather passes through that space. He’s a wizard on the half wall on the PP as his balance, edges, and puck control leave you chasing his well placed passes. The concern from basically everyone is how much he’s going to grow and how fast he’s going to grow. I’ve heard many heights and weights thrown around but the BC POE camp has him listed at 5’4 and 110 lbs. It is impressive at how much he’s been able to contribute at the U18 level already but he does get easily knocked over and pushed off his skating lanes through the middle of the ice already. Based on just a pure skill package, Noah is the most agile player and the best puck handler available in the draft but there is a perceived risk/reward debate. I’m sure some scouts would gladly pass on Noah while others might say gimme, gimme, gimme. It depends who you ask. If you draft Noah, you get the most skilled playmaker in the draft but who’s size might hinder his overall effectiveness.

How does one lead the entire U15 CSSHL in scoring when you’re a year younger, 5’2, and 97lbs? You gotta be a pretty incredible hockey player honestly. Despite the physical limitations, Noah plays off of physicality better than most of the league. He anticipates pressure, shields the puck, spins off coverage, bolts to escape, and keeps the defenseman guessing while he surveys his options. Noah has high-end balance, terrific understanding of spatial awareness and timing, and is just as dangerous tipping pucks from the slot as he is playmaking from the half wall. The long story short of it is that Noah’s game is ridiculously detailed and well-rounded and I look forward to him continuing to dominate the score sheets moving forward.
