Betzold is a great skater with a smooth stride. It looks effortless how he moves around the ice with and without the puck. He is tenacious on the forecheck and has a great stick, stealing pucks in all three zones. Betzold protects the puck well and can find his way through defenders with his speed and skill. He has great vision with the puck and can use his speed to create extra space for himself. Although a slow start in the USHL this season, Betzold has all the tools to be a great player.
