Scouting Report
EVALUATED 03/04/2021Devin Rodger
The University of Notre Dame commit has had himself a year with the NTDP U18’s putting up 20 goals and adding 27 assists at the time of this evaluation. Looking through Pastujov’s history, you will notice he looks like the setup man, but this year that has changed. On the powerplay he is positioned as a defenseman on his offside where he unloads bombs, but this is not his whole shooting game. Pastujov can also come down the wing and unload a heavy shot within stride. If passes arrive in his feet he is still able to get a shot off with high velocity and accuracy and while riding edges he can get a shot away. At first glance, he appears to have slow acceleration on a breakout, but you then notice that Pastujov is reading the play and is often able to create a large amount of space for himself and thus getting his teammates into better positions to receive a pass which is a rare site to see in players this young. If he can continue to develop as a shooter with his play making ability, he will continue to be an extremely dangerous player on the ice at the next level.
