Day 2: 2021 USA Hockey Select 16 Camp - The 6’3” left-winger offered so much more than a big body in this game. In addition to an intimidating frame, Ty Henricks boasted an impressive ability to find himself time and space in some of the most dangerous areas of the ice. Although limited in terms of his agility, Henricks does not hesitate to use the full extension of his stride to build speed and transition laterally through traffic, while supplementing his attack with surprisingly quick and secure puck handling. His quick decision making and occasionally impressive anticipation enabled him to catch defenders off guard with regularity. Further, he’s the type of player who would sooner defend in the offensive zone than in the defensive zone. His forecheck is quite prohibitive of any sort of controlled breakout, which will be a valuable asset at any level.
