Sabourin is your archetypal power forward who plays an effective north-south style of game. He uses his large frame quite effectively to drive the net whenever he has the puck on his stick. When he’s able to get to his top-end speed he is quite difficult to contain off the rush by dipping his shoulder down and powering his way to the crease area. Even his off-puck game revolves around the crease area, as he’s always looking to cause havoc around the opposing team’s goaltender. His speed and power game often forced the other team to take penalties to avoid Sabourin from getting a grade A scoring opportunity. He possesses a shoot-first mentality which sometimes leads to a bit of tunnel vision with the puck on his stick and putting pucks on net from awkward angles rather than looking for an open teammate. There were a few times off the rush where he skated himself into pressure rather than delaying and waiting for help, which is one of the pitfalls of how he plays the game.
