With every viewing of the Flyers in the second half of the year, Kulemin keeps exceeding my expectations. I thought he was excellent in this one, winning battle after battle, applying pressure, and forcing plenty of turnovers, especially on the forecheck. He always seemed to be in the right spot to make a play on the puck, be disruptive, and help the Flyers win back the puck. Whenever Aleks had possession, he always made the right decision to link plays together and rarely conceded the puck with an ill-advised choice. He didn't find the scoresheet, but it was just a really impressive showing of the details of his game.

Another viewing where I noted Kulemin as always making the right play at the right time. It wasn't anything flashy, but just spotting what action to take to link plays together to get pucks up the ice with control. Aleks connected on plenty of little short passes to adjacent teammates, smartly passing around defenders, and just helped them transition up ice many times through his smart decision-making.

I once again thought Kulemin stood out in this one. He controlled the play down the middle of the ice, transporting pucks through the neutral zone, and was a primary catalyst in transition. Aleks protected the puck well to the outside of the offensive zone, using delays and smart body positioning to shield pucks from defenders and spark offence.

I've always noticed Kulemin when I've watched this loaded DMF squad, but he was a bit more in the foreground in this one. He protected the puck well, using his frame and tactical handling in conjunction to be difficult for BK defenders to contain. I really liked his assertiveness to try to attack the middle lane and attempt to get to the scoring areas, he wasn't always successful, but I just noted the ambition to try to get in tight.
