EVENT 2024 Alliance Face-Off
Lisi scored two goals in the game I watched in the Face Off, both relying on his quick release and powerful shot, one off a breakaway and one firing home a pass from Wycisk out of the corner. Outside of the two goals, I thought Lisi once again did an excellent job relying on his ability to handle the puck fluidly in motion, always having the right maneuver to problem-solve his way out of danger. He had many nice sequences of dodging a defender to win a zone entry or buy space within the offensive zone, and then spot a passing lane to move a puck through. All in all it was another stellar offensive performance from the Sun County Panthers forward.

EVENT 2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
This Sun County team is one of the teams I was most familiar with entering the season, as I watched them quite a few times in their U15 year, especially at the OHF Championship. With Lisi, my read on his game has always revolved around his high-end puck skills and how he uses those to spark offence, and it was no different over the Titans Tournament. All event long, Lisi was looking to dangle his way through defenders to attack the middle of the ice and was rewarded plenty for this ambition. He craftily navigated to the dangerous parts of the ice with slick moves time and time again to spark quality scoring chances for the Panthers. If there was no path to maneuver to the middle, he was scanning for passing lanes and had many clever passes from the exterior of the offensive zone to open teammates on the interior. He found the back of the net and set up goals through his passing that I could elaborate on, but this dual-threat of deking his way to the middle if there was a path or connecting on a dangerous pass was at the core of most of his success.

EVENT 2024 Draft Day Showcase
The Draft Day Showcase was a fantastic showing for Lisi, flashing his high-end puck skill and playmaking ability once again. Whenever he had the puck, he played with patience and plenty of confidence to play with control and never rush his decisions. Hardly, if ever, was Lisi opting to dump pucks into the offensive zone, but he was trying to enter the offensive zone with control, even if it required navigating around a defender. Alexander was always so calm under pressure, relying on his slick hands to problem-solve his way out of danger and advance play into the dangerous areas. There were so many situations where I thought the defence was about to close him down, but Lisi's quick hands were leveraged to navigate to safety and escape the check. The cherry on top of all this was what happened after he dodged pressure, as it would all be for nothing if he wasn't taking advantage of the time and space he was so stellar at creating. After a successful slick move, Lisi constantly scanned for open gaps in the defence and slipped pass after pass through lanes to teammates on the defence's interior. He was able to spark so many high-quality chances all through his constant awareness of where the holes are in the defence and exploiting those gaps. His stellar job prioritizing possession and escaping checks opened up so much for his passing game, and it all blended perfectly to drive tremendous results for Alliance West over the weekend.

EVENT 2024 OHF U15 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Lisi was the player on the Panthers that most exceeded my expectations relative to past viewings. While I previously appreciated his game, he was fantastic over the OHFs, elevating my impression of what he offers. All weekend long, Alexander constantly tried to attack the middle of the ice. No matter the situation or how many defenders were in his path, he was eager and confident to penetrate and attack the dangerous parts of the ice. The puck skills were at the core of these sequences as Lisi almost had the puck on a string, dangling around defender after defender and winning lanes to the center of the ice. While he wasn't successful in all of these moments, the sheer ambition and volume of these sequences spoke to a player with the attack mindset I'm looking for. Someone who has the skills to pull off the flashy moves and the processing to spot the holes in the defence will always catch my eye, which is what I saw from Lisi across my many views of the Panthers at the OHFs.

As always with Lisi, my notes revolved around his high-end puck skills and how he attacked the net. He had many impressive sequences maneuvering by a defender, winning a lane to the net, and driving for a quality chance, really showcasing his ability to get to the scoring areas. Typically, in a viewing of Lisi, I applaud the ambition even if it doesn't work out, but in this game, he was highly successful in his efforts, beating defender after defender to get to the interior. Alex scored in this game, finishing a two-on-one pass from Eamon Edgar.

The three point effort came from slipping to inside position off a faceoff, driving the net into the low slot, and finding himself in spaces to get harder pucks on net and jump into the backdoor off the rush. I appreciate that he doesn’t hesitate to take the puck into harder areas and drive into them without possession too. It is a good quality of a linemate and often gets goals that aren’t so pretty every now and then.

A player who came alive in the second half and with some more consistent play likely could’ve found himself with a higher game rating – nonetheless, the possession ability displayed by Alexander Lisi to handle the puck under pressure, stay balanced and poised while being pushed and shoved allowed him to get some brief looks through the high-slot in the offensive zone. He kept his options opened at all times, keeping passing lanes to his blueliners high in the zone open, he faked a pass on one occasion and had a defender soften up their stance, enabling Lisi to slide the puck between his legs and receive it on the other side, taking a stride into the middle and snapping a shot directed towards the net. Little plays like such where he could go from casually gliding to slipping past a checker is what let Lisi create space out of seemingly nothing. Off puck he was tenacious and worked hard to force turnovers, one of which he forced a puck out of his defensive end and in the process of hunting it down drew a penalty.

Lisi was one of the players on White that I was impressed with, primarily for his play in transition. He did a great job controlling the puck in the neutral zone and entering the offensive third with control on most of his possessions. He mainly made his impact through his pace, gaining separation from defenders by skating, but he also had some quality puck touches to navigate around opponents. Upon entering the zone, Lisi often used delays to buy himself time, gain space, and then scan for passing options in the middle of the ice. Through these sequences, he often spotted an open teammate in a shooting position, creating many scoring chances for his linemates.
