Baker had a solid performance, mainly for protecting pucks to the exterior and beating defenders wide for scoring chances. He used his physical tools well, using smart body position to secure lanes to the net and drive in for scoring chances. I noticed Andrew quite a bit applying pressure all over the ice, always being involved on the forecheck and backcheck, forcing a handful of turnovers. This is all typically the storyline whenever I watch Sun County, and all of what makes me think he plays a highly projectable game and what has him in contention for a spot within my final top 100.

Baker was one I could have highlighted in my Titans report, but I just missed the cut as I couldn't speak to everyone. I noted him for his ability to control play down the wing and protect the puck along the exterior, and that was more of the same I saw here. I thought he controlled the play for some good sequences, protecting the puck with smart usage of body position and just being difficult to knock off the puck. He seemed to thrive in these small area scenarios on the outside or along the wall, having some clever flashes of evading checks with a calculated move to dodge a defender trying to close him down. It was nothing highlight-reel worthy, but after watching the Panthers many times now, I'm starting to see shades of a projectable player in Baker, who is worth paying more attention to on this talented team.
