EVENT 2026 OHL Draft Final Evaluation
Projection: Middle Six Forward
Strengths: Explosive Skating, Compete, Finishing
Development Opportunities: Strength, Cycle Game
I’ve liked Legros all year, but he really started to impress me down the final stretch at the OMHAs and OHL Cup. He’s a highly explosive, high-motor forward who makes things happen off his skating. Ben wins pucks constantly on the forecheck, generates off the rush down the wing, and can finish when he gets his chances, especially in and around the net. I like his off-puck game too, rotating into open pockets and covering for pinching defenseman, showing some solid hockey sense in his positional play. All of these elements are what blend together to make me think he could develop into a useful piece in the middle of a roster.
The area I’d like to see develop is his small-area and cycle game. Adding some strength, tightening up his handling in tight quarters, and becoming more of a force down low as a puck protector who can play through contact and create off the wall would make him a more impactful forward. The explosiveness and motor will force turnovers, but having the tools to extend those possessions into scoring chances makes him all the more valuable. The floor is a hardworking bottom-six forward, but I think there’s real potential for him to play his way up a lineup.
