Brandon has a lot going for him since he already has the size and composure to play up levels. He was making smart passes on the PP, taking advantage of players who closed out on him more before dishing to the wings, and was never afraid of finding shot lanes on net to create turmoil. He’s more advantageous than most defenders at just getting shots on whether he sees the lane clear or not in order to find that potential tip or rebound chance. Against smaller players, he can bully them off routes on the outside as he did against some NAX players and then can zip pucks up ice quickly to change the momentum. I think the biggest element to work on is the skating agility to test new limits and be able to escape pressure in multiple ways than just passing. I’d love to see him turning away from pressure and showing more movement into his form from the point too. Either way, he’s smart, calculated, controlled, and has the size and composure to run a PP with effectiveness. He finished with 10 points in 6 games.
