He didn’t get any points but that didn’t mean the moments of finesse and puck touch while passing laterally across zones wasn’t noticed. He showed a comfortability to drag a puck slightly behind his hip pocket when opening up his posture on the exterior. He makes himself a dual shot and pass threat in those spots where he’s cutting back towards the middle of the ice. I think if he can continue to make the dynamism of that puck control a little more pronounced and combine that with the power in his skating stride, he could be even more of a tough player to handle than he is right now. Very solid showing.
