After watching JRC three times and considering how involved Warren is when he is on the ice, there is a lot I could say here, but I'll focus on a few key elements. The first thing that stands out with Warren is his non-stop go-go-go playstyle. No matter the situation, he never stops moving his feet and is always motoring up, down, and all over the ice. He's incredibly quick and explosive, which, when paired with the relentless work rate, makes for a player who is always the center of the play. With the puck at his side, he's an incredible handler who can maneuver the puck in any direction in the blink of an eye. His hands made him so deceptive, allowed him to beat defenders so easily, and opened up so much space and passing lanes for him to exploit. The mobility and handling in Warren's game just enabled him to dominate shift after shift, transition the puck so effortlessly, and access anywhere he wanted on the ice. There's more I could rave about here, but evidently, Warren is a top-end player who greatly impressed over the Toronto Titans Tournament and earned himself the #1 spot out of the gate on my 2025 OHL Draft Rankings.

Warren was pivotal for the Jr. Canadians' time with the puck. On the draw he more often than not won the faceoff, or he would tie up his man on the dot and position himself to give his line the advantage on securing possession. He also played physically along the boards, pinning guys down so he could leverage his stick to separate them from the puck. All game, he would swoop in and disrupt breakouts, gaining puck possession and moving it once his team reestablished themselves in the offensive zone. He had a lot of puck touches, smart passes, tidy shots on nets, and was always converging on the net picking up rebounds or regaining possession to recycle. Warren drove his team's offense but also elevated everyone else's game in the process.

While Brady Smith filled the net with goals, I thought Cam Warren was the one making everything tick on the Rangers. He was constantly zipping all over the ice, playing with top-end pace, and dominating in transition. His explosive skating and ability to shift laterally were so apparent as his footwork was so critical to his success, enabling him to gain separation with ease. Warren was so effective with the puck on his stick, carrying it end to end so many times and being the heart and soul of so much of what the Rangers were creating. His on-puck skills and escapability allowed him to draw pressure in and then gain separation, opening up so much space and passing lanes for him to exploit. Through these sequences, he contributed so much as a playmaker, spotting his teammates all over the offensive zone, sparking many scoring chances and notching five assists. He had some chances of his own, finding the back of the net a handful of times over the week, mainly through timing himself into open pockets of space and being in the right spot to receive passes and quickly fire them on net. Reflecting on my notes for how Adam Valentini looked at the 2023 OHL Cup, I'd say Warren had a more impressive showing, which is quite a positive sign of how he'll look a year from now come 2025 OHL Draft day.

The '09 forward continues to impress with every viewing, being one of the primary driving factors on the Rangers. As always, he played with pace, showcasing his quickness and ability to handle the puck at high speeds to dodge any defender trying to close him down. No matter the situation, Camryn had the mobility and puck skills to problem solve his way to safety and maintain control of the puck. Warren tallied one of the Rangers' goals, catching and releasing far side past the goaltender off a pass from Jacob Bultje.

Cam was easily the most engaged and the most active player on North York. It seemed like they were double and triple shifting him at times. He was building tons of speed off the rush and using his crossovers to push left and right. He beat his man a few times on the outside and even hit a crossbar I think on the far side once the puck slid to him again. He;s the kind of player who adjusts so fast to a changing landscape in front of him due to being light on his feet and having quick reaction timing. He was attempting give and go plays, absolutely bounced on loose pucks, and continued to cut into the slot when they gave him that lane. I’m not sure if he got the last goal but he was the one who faked and delayed his shot on the outside to get it through.

Camryn Warren starts us off in this article, earning himself 20th overall thanks to his speed and puck skills meshed with some nice power and explosiveness to work his way through tight spaces and physical play. At this age group one of the main things I look for in speedy puck carrying forwards is their ability to burst down the wing with control and power, not necessarily just speed, strong and controlled strides with balance and proper skating mechanics go a long way to being able to continue to use that style of play at the next level and Warren displayed all those qualities. He could absorb a bump or a check and continue making his way up the ice, creating space as a result of his physical resiliency and using some nice vision and passing skill to send pucks through seams across the ice. As a whole he was a strong playmaking threat due to his speed, backing off defenders he was able to connect on a few drop-pass plays that allowed him to create some shooting opportunities for teammates. Another element of his that I really liked was the ability to be put in an uncomfortable position with the puck and find a way to work out of it, reading and reacting on the fly to what was going on around him, shielding it with quick puck handles and pivots to box out opposition, and buy time to make a decision. Some projectable skills put on display by Warren have him as one of the top players from the event.

Camryn Warren was one of those players who exceled in transition and was an integral part to his team’s success even if he didn’t have the type of game that would pull you out of your seat. His ability to quickly string together crossovers and quick hands let him get around traffic in the neutral zone, whizzing into the offensive zone with control, and even putting defenders on their heels a little as he crossed the line, opening up some time for him to take a few shots on goal. He bounced pucks off his teammates well in the neutral zone, making quick give-and-go sequences to get around opponents and build momentum and establish some speed across his linemates and himself. He played with a high motor and had the puck skills to match his feet which was encouraging to see.

2023 Whitby Silver Stick
It happened earlier in the year with Lambton's Johnny McLaughlin, but over the Silver Stick, I had the "eureka" moment and realized Warren was a 2009 playing up. I've always felt Warren was in the mix of things with the Rangers, but now, looking back, knowing he is playing up an age category puts things in a whole new light. Camryn is an explosive skater and skilled puck handler, which he combined all weekend long. These tools allowed Warren to escape pressure in many different ways, but mainly through lateral moves to avoid stick checks and advance play. He was eager to attack the middle of the ice, racking up plenty of scoring chances through this willingness to penetrate the center. I'll be working on getting to know the 2009s to integrate the Canadians into our '09 rankings, and Warren is certainly someone very high on my radar for those purposes.

2023 Marlboros Holiday Classic
Warren was fantastic in my viewings of the North York Rangers at the Holiday Classic. The main element was that he was constantly trying to attack the middle lane. Using his lateral quickness and puck skills, Camryn constantly cut to the middle, dodged a defender, and generated scoring chance after scoring chance. If there was no path for him to penetrate, Camryn didn't hesitate to delay, buy time, and dish off to trailing teammates who just entered the zone. I thought Warren was one of the most impactful forwards on his team, making for an impressive performance as a 2009-born playing up with the '08s.
